I am Denise Brighton, a student at Margaret Street, the Art Faculty of Birmingham University.  Having entered the University in 2009 I am now in my final year. I believe it true to say that all of us attending the fine art course have enjoyed a life- long interest in art.  My specific interest, better described as a passion, has always been the art of dance but I have also enjoyed painting, sculpture, theatre, music, literature, etc.

Before attending Margaret Street my art interest were sectionalised.  The past three years has provided the essential connections to show that no form of art stands independent of all other forms of art. This understanding is the key element of the knowledge given to me by contact with the staff and fellow students with whom I have shared the last three years.  Thus even before graduation (hope for) I am the beneficiary of gifts I could not have imagined when first setting out on this exciting journey.
